Boarderline started as an idea to finally hit it big. To be my own boss and ultimately create content I love. The problem was, I was passionate about too many things. It took me almost a year to figure out what exactly would be at the heart of this project. It couldn’t be all the things I was passionate about, but it could be one or two. It took the dead of a Canadian winter to remind me how much I love and miss swimwear. It brought me back to the days of looking at my favorite brands websites (on the daily) to see what was new, or just to obsess about the items or lines that really spoke to me. It brought me back even further to the little girl, who, in the dead of a very similar Canadian winter, would dress up in her 101 dalmatians swimsuit and have a beach day in the middle of the living room. This blog would be about fashion. But not just fashion, surf style.

You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.

But why just make another fashion blog? Even surf style seems pretty broad. Boarderline will focus not only on the “trends” but on my personal taste and need for function in my fashion. It will be about being strong and fabulous! Yes, being an athlete in several sports has given me a great appreciation for the functionality and comfort of my clothes. But who says you can’t slay while working out or having fun right?

The Koalafications

Ok, so why should you care what I have to say? In our great Canadian summers I LIVE in swimwear! In the house, backyard by the pool, on vacation, at the beach, and at the cottage. If I can be wearing a swimsuit, it’s gonna happen. Over the years I’ve accumulated quite the collection of bikinis, one pieces, and rashguards. I even went through a board short phase. I swim, surf, paddle, and wakeboard along with a plethora of land based activities. With a background in photography, social media, and design, I hope to always create & curate visually interesting content.

To add some extra flair to my experience, I happen to have a body type that’s a mixture of muscle, curves, and actual boobs, on a fairly small frame. When I’m shopping for clothes, things get a little interesting. I also happen to have friends of all shapes and sizes. I’d like to say I’m fairly familiar with what would look good on different body types.
