Why One Piece Swimsuits Are Under Rated

You probably started out like most other girls when it comes to swimwear. When you were young, you almost exclusively whore one piece swimsuits. I have fond memories of a red, 101 Dalmatians suit myself. But, as you grew older you would move on from one piece, to tankini, to full on bikini.  At one point in my life, I had decided that one piece swimsuits were just inconvenient, unflattering, uncomfortable, and only for old people, so I stopped wearing them all together. It wasn’t until my early 20s that I’d discovered how wrong I was about one piece suits. Of course, like anything, there is exceptions to the rule. Finding ANY swimsuit that is both comfortable and stylish can take a bit of digging. But finding versatile garments that you LOVE to wear is always worth the search (and sometimes that’s half the fun!). Here are 5 reasons why one piece swimsuits ROCK:

1With the rise of bodysuits, a good one piece can pass as a cute top! Not only is this great because you now have extra clothing options when you’re not having a pool or beach day, but when you are, it makes it super easy to go from the water to dinner in a snap. No need for a whole extra outfit just for when you’re not in the water. Shorts or even some pants are all you need. If you’re going out for the night after a sweater or cardigan will complete the look. I will say though that the only downside to this is using the washroom. Pulling to the side or getting pretty much naked in public restrooms is kinda weird no  matter which way you spin it.

3More comfy to just be in. Are you kidding? Of course I don’t want tight knots digging into my back and neck. Finding a suit that’s not stringy does come with some searching weather it’s a one piece or not, the work is totally worth it! Suits can should be both cute AND comfortable.

4No crazy pattern indents. Have you ever gotten up with crazy patterns all over your stomach or back after sitting or laying on just about anything in a swimsuit? One of the perks of just a bit more coverage is that if you do happen to have those marks, no one can see them.

5This little thing called skin cancer. On a smaller scale, nobody likes being sunburnt. While wearing a one piece suit won’t prevent you from being burned, it will keep you more covered up than that bikini which will minimize the surface area that you can be burned. As always, please apply sunscreen regularly!
